Supported Special Characters for passwords
Posted by Paul Tuttle on 03 February 2020 11:01 AM

Creating a strong password is extremely important for any password that is used. Contrary to popular belief longer passwords are more secure than passwords with special characters. However many password manager tools or SIP IP/PBX servers require special characters. We recommend Alpha-Numeric passwords (Numbers and Letters) but when required CyberData Devices support some special characters that can be used for the login password and the SIP Authentication password.

The following characters are supported:

! * - _ = + | @

Characters that are NOT Supported:

< > { } [ ] / \ & ^ ?
