Q: Do CyberData SIP devices support SIP over TCP or TLS?

A: CyberData SIP devices do not currently support SIP over TCP or TLS. Only UDP transport is supported for SIP messaging.

For IP-PBX integration where SIP over TCP or TLS transport is required, such as Microsoft Lync, we would recommend implementing a media gateway capable of transcoding SIP over UDP to SIP over TCP/TLS.

The following media gateways are suggested for integration with CyberData products:

  1.     AudioCodes Mediant 1000 Modular Gateway
  2.     Net UX Series Modular Systems (UX 1000 and UX 2000)
  3.     Patton SmartNode

Example configurations for each media gateway are provided on our compatible IP-PBX server index here:

However, Your PBX provider may offer an alternate method of supporting endpoints utilizing SIP over UDP transport.  I would recommend consulting with your PBX provider for more information.

Q: Do CyberData SIP devices support SRTP?

A: No, CyberData SIP devices do not currently support SRTP.

Q: Do CyberData SIP devices support encrypted remote provision profiles such as https or http aes?

A: CyberData SIP devices support downloading encrypted provisioning files using HTTPS.  The supported TLS version is 1.0.
